Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bellville Ohio!

Welcome to St. Paul Lutheran Church. We are a mid-size congregation located in the middle of Bellville, Ohio. More than geographic location, we are located in the heart of God. We have experienced God’s wonderful love poured out upon us and are passionate about sharing that love with others. In order to live fully in God’s love we seek to trust God with all our heart. This is not easy to do but as we learn God’s loving desires for us, we cannot help but tell others about God’s love and care for others using the gifts God has given us.

riches of kindness and generosity or are sharing just a small crop of nice? Tonight we will explore
the character traits of Jesus and how we are to imitate them.

August 16 Faithfulness Pastor Doug / Holy Communion

Faithfulness and patience and faith go together, for faithfulness is the combination of patience and
faith. It is the application of patient faith for the long term.

August 10 13th Sunday after Pentecost 8:15 Outdoor / Holy Communion
1 Kings 19:9-18 Psalm 85 Romans 10:5-15 Matthew 14:22-33
Get Out of the Boat
There come times in all our lives when we are encouraged to risk it all and to get out of the boat.
Peter did so at the invitation of Jesus, who was walking on water at the time. In a metaphorical sense
Elijah got out of the boat when he challenged the profits of Baal to a trial by fire. Try it. Get out.

August 17 14th Sunday after Pentecost 8:15 Outdoor
Isaiah 56:1, 6-8 Psalm 67 Romans 11:1-2a, 29-32 Matthew 15:10-28
The Insiders!
Who has it an “in” with God? In God’s upside down world it is usually not the person when we
think it is.

August 24 15th Sunday after Pentecost 8:15 Outdoor / Holy Communion
Isaiah 51:1-6 Psalm 138 Romans 12:1-8 Matthew 16:13-20
My Favorite Verse
Many people have a favorite Bible verse. Someone once asked Pastor Doug, “What is your favorite
verse?” After hemming and hawing, he said, “Romans 12, verses 1 and 2.” And once he said it, it
became so. Since today’s lessons include this verse, he is claiming preacher’s pejorative and
preaching on it.

August 31 16th Sunday after Pentecost Work Camp Service
The 2008 Work Campers to Waterloo Iowa will be sharing their stories, songs and skits at both
worship services. This is always a high energy, joyful worship service.
